Environmental DNA (eDNA) is the DNA signature found in the environment/ecosystem. In analyzing it, the presence and relative abundance of any organism can be determined. If it has DNA, it can be found, provided you can test for it.
For years, DNA and RNA testing was limited to only laboratories, requiring field samples to be shipped to them. With LAMP assays, field samples can be tested on site with limited equipment.
Easy to Use
LAMP assays require little to no training and is very tolerant in handling. Even direct plant tissue and soil samples can be handled by the assay.
Incredibly Customizable and Accurate
If a target can be tracked via DNA or RNA, it can be found with a LAMP assay ran under the same conditions. Plant pathogens, soil microbes, beneficial insects, your dog, a LAMP assay can be built that can find what you are looking for.
